Ansys Ventures Into the Realm of AI with AnsysGPT
Taking a leap into the future, Ansys Inc. is gearing up to supercharge its software with some advanced AI capabilities. Located in Pittsburgh, Ansys is joining the vanguard of tech companies that are taking the AI bull by the horns, infusing it into their products for better performance and user experience.
By the dawn of 2024, Ansys is set to roll out AnsysGPT, a savvy AI assistant designed to help users navigate their engineering and simulation software. But that’s not all. The AI assistant can also tackle questions on physics and engineering, adding another layer of value to the customer experience.
A Collaboration That Means Business
This futuristic leap was made possible through a collaboration with Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. Currently, AnsysGPT is in its beta phase, available to a select group of Ansys customers. The tool is expected to make waves in the industry, following the success of its predecessor, ChatGPT, which was launched to the public by OpenAI Inc. last year, backed by a cool $10 billion from Microsoft Corp.
The AnsysGPT Advantage
AnsysGPT isn’t just a novelty, it’s a powerful addition to Ansys’ software arsenal. As Anthony Dawson, the vice president of customer excellence at Ansys, noted, AnsysGPT complements the existing AI integrations across the company’s portfolio. This includes computational fluid dynamics solvers that use AI and Machine Learning to refine turbulence models, structural tools that leverage AI and Machine Learning to predict computational spending, and software that uses AI and Machine Learning to build reduced order models efficiently.
Training for AnsysGPT is derived directly from the company’s resources, including Ansys Innovation Courses, technical documentation, blog articles, and how-to videos. The company has assured that customer inputs are not stored or used to train the model, adding a layer of privacy assurance to the tool.
Ansys now joins the ranks of edtech platform Duolingo Inc. and consumer analytics platform CivicScience, both based in East Liberty, as the newest entrants into the ChatGPT tech world.
