Ah, the rise of artificial intelligence, a subject that has had science fiction enthusiasts in a perpetual state of concern for decades. You can hardly give your social media feed a quick scroll without tripping over some unnervingly uncanny AI art. And, of course, this is swiftly followed by the age-old debate: are robots really coming for our jobs?
But really, how formidable is AI? To find out the true capabilities of these digital masterminds, Men’s Health decided to put a chatbot to the test with none other than pop sensation Charlie Puth. In the premier installment of their new JackedGPT series, Puth grills ChatGPT about his career and fitness routine, even going so far as to ask it to describe what kind of protein shake he would be (spoiler: it’s vanilla).
Never one to back down from a challenge, Puth then tasks ChatGPT with the ultimate test: write him a workout song that will not only pump him up but also seamlessly fit into his existing discography.
The result? ‘I got my gym bag packed, my head in the zone, going to hit the weights, going to push it alone. Got my playlist queued, my heart rate’s high, going to run this mile, going to touch the sky.’
Color Puth unimpressed. He quips, ‘And they’re criticizing me for being vanilla. It’s kind of hard for me to imagine what something like that might sound like because the lyrics are so trash.’
But ChatGPT doesn’t stop there. It even has the audacity to offer Puth some advice for his music career, including a pre-performance warmup routine complete with breathing exercises, neck stretches, shoulder rolls, and arm stretches.
So, are we shaking in our boots at the thought of AI taking over the world? Not quite yet. But it does make you wonder, if a chatbot can whip up a mediocre workout song and give a pop star some useful advice, what else might these digital geniuses be capable of?
Only time will tell, but in the meantime, let’s not lose any sleep over it. After all, we’ve still got Charlie Puth to serenade us with his decidedly non-vanilla tunes. […]
