Meet Polygon’s New Crew: ChatGPT AI Assistant, Copilot

And the Web3 company bandwagon rolls on, with another member embracing AI. The latest entrant to the club is none other than blockchain scaling solution Polygon. On Wednesday, they announced the launch of their AI assistant, Polygon Copilot. Because, let’s face it, who doesn’t need an AI sidekick these days?

Polygon sings the praises of their new AI-powered friend in a post, stating, “Whether you’re a serious builder, an enthusiast, or a curious user, Polygon Copilot is an AI-powered interface that unlocks a world of interactions, simply by ‘asking.’ Its conversational UI represents a leap in the quality of user experience.”Such poetic words for an interoperability and scaling framework for Ethereum-compatible blockchains!

Navigating the vast ecosystem of dApps on Polygon can indeed be a challenge, as they pointed out in a tweet. So why not bring in a handy guide in the form of an AI assistant? In March, Polygon had launched the final mainnet of its zkEVM solution for Ethereum, and now, they’re diving headfirst into the world of AI.

The brainchild of a collaboration with application developer LayerE, Polygon Copilot integrates OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 into the interface. The goal? To provide insights, analytics, and guidance, all while being trained on Polygon protocol documentation. And for those concerned about transparency and accuracy, fret not, as Polygon assures that the AI will share the sources of the information included in its responses.

But wait, there’s more! Polygon Copilot offers three tiers—Beginner, Advanced, and Degen—for users at different levels of the ecosystem. To use this delightful AI, all you need to do is connect a wallet that will act as your user account. You’ll be assigned credits to use towards asking questions, and new credits will be added every 24 hours. Talk about customer service!

Polygon Copilot doesn’t skimp on personality either. Ask it for the top NFT project on Polygon, and it’ll hit you with a quip about Drill Club, saying, “It’s legit, no FUD allowed here. Absolutely LFG!” Who said AI couldn’t have a sense of humor?

Of course, like any responsible AI platform, Copilot comes with a disclaimer warning users not to take all of the chatbot’s answers at face value. After all, it “leverages nascent AI technology that may provide inaccurate information.”Polygon also limits the number of responses the chatbot can generate to avoid spamming and overload.

And so, Polygon joins the ranks of Web3 companies like Alchemy, Solana Labs, and Etherscan that are leveraging artificial intelligence with ChatGPT plugins and clones. And it seems that the word “copilot”is becoming quite the trend, with Microsoft’s Security Copilot and GitHub’s Copilot coding assistant also sporting the same moniker.

Well, it seems AI assistants are here to stay, and the Web3 world is all in on the trend. Let’s just hope these AI copilots don’t get too sassy for their own good.
