Doubling Down on AI Conversations: The GPT-4 Message Cap Lift
The world of artificial intelligence is a fast ride. One minute you’re stuck with a measly 25 messages every three hours, the next you’re basking in the glory of a doubled limit. Yes, you heard it right. OpenAI has decided to give us a bigger piece of the GPT-4 pie, increasing the message limit to 50 every three hours for ChatGPT Plus users. And if you’re thinking this is just another corporate move, think again. This is a game-changer.
The Rumor Mill
Now, I know what you’re thinking. “I’ve heard rumors of users getting up to 200 messages every three hours. What’s up with that?” Well, let me tell you, the Twitterverse is buzzing with these claims. Some users are reporting this stealthy increase, and my own experience seems to confirm it. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. For now, the official word is 50, and that’s a big enough leap to celebrate.
The Impact: Users and Developers
So, what does this mean for us, the users? Simple. More room to play, to explore, to dive deep into the AI abyss without the fear of hitting that dreaded message cap. Whether you’re using GPT-4 for a deep philosophical debate or testing out the new CapCut AI video editor, this increase is a win.
But let’s not forget the developers and businesses. For them, this is like Christmas came early. More customer queries, longer AI-generated content, faster business intelligence data analysis – the possibilities are endless. And for the apps that run on GPT-4? Consistency, reliability, and continuous service just got a major boost. Additionally, less reliance on paying extra for ChatGPT enabled API apps and plugins like AI writers.
UPDATE
As of 7/19/2023 it looks like the increase may be official. Here’s a screenshot of my current limit.
The Catch
But of course, there’s always a catch. The Browse with Bing plugin is still on the bench, waiting for OpenAI to figure out how to stop it from accessing paywalled content. But hey, nobody said the road to AI supremacy would be smooth.
A doubled message limit, a potential stealth increase, and a whole lot of possibilities. It’s a good time to be in the AI game.
